A Civic Leadership Institute for English-Speaking Youth

Nicolas Bergeron – 2019 Youth Advisory Committee

Hi there! I’m Nic, 19, from the South Shore of Montreal. I completed my Cegep studies in December 2018 within the Commerce profile of the Social Science program at Champlain College Saint-Lambert. I will be pursuing my academic career at Concordia’s own John Molson School of Business, majoring in Accountancy with an added minor in Management. I am passionate about LGBTQ+ affairs along with Indigenous affairs due to my own personal identity and the multiple learning moments experienced at the Bishop’s Forum.

My Forum Experience
For me, the Bishop’s Forum was a week-long opportunity to meet other amazing and talented youth from all regions of Quebec. It allowed me to grow as an individual, all while developing my leadership and social networking skills. At the Forum, we discussed various social issues affecting Quebecers and pitched in our perspective as members of the youth community. I admire my experience as I learned new perspectives on issues I may not have previously been aware of. Overall, my horizons were broadened by the many inspiring participants and members. I would highly recommend the Bishop’s Forum to anyone who is interested in social issues, Quebec politics, or even if they just want to engage in dialogue with other youth participants.
