A Civic Leadership Institute for English-Speaking Youth

Malcolm Lewis-Richmond – 2019 Youth Advisory Committee

Malcolm Lewis-Richmond majored in linguistics at the Université du Québec à Montréal and is the founding president of Youth 4 Youth Québec, a non-profit group that represents Quebec’s English-speaking linguistic minority youth community. A runner-up for the QCGN’s Young Quebecers Leading the Way award in 2017, he is interested in building bridges between the English and French-speaking communities.

After graduating from bilingual programs in high school and in Cegep, Malcolm acknowledged the need to adequately represent linguistic minority communities. With Y4Y Quebec, he works with a team that strengthens the vitality of Quebec’s English-speaking youth community. An experienced political organizer, Malcolm brings his experience in leadership, campaign strategy, governance, communications and advocacy work to the table. He currently works in communications in the labour movement.

My Forum Experience
I particularly enjoyed participating in the parliamentary commission at the Bishop’s Forum, where I learned with my teammates what it really takes to pitch an idea. The Forum is an opportunity for Quebec’s future lawmakers, presidents, community leaders and changemakers to come together to build a strong and resilient network.
